Installers can now complete the full route towards becoming a 3M Endorsed DI-NOC Installer through the William Smith Training Academy.

In addition to our established two-day 3M DI-NOC Application Training Course, we will now host official one-day Endorsed Installer Assessment days at our Barnard Castle facility.

This makes progressing from training to assessment easier than ever. Trainees can develop their knowledge and practical skills with our experienced team before completing the assessment through William Smith, without needing to arrange it separately with 3M.

A Clearer Route to 3M Endorsement

The new assessment days create a straightforward three-day route for installers working towards 3M endorsement:

  • Two days of practical 3M DI-NOC application training
  • One day completing the official written and practical assessment

The two-day course provides the preparation installers need before attempting the assessment. It allows trainees to learn the correct application methods, practise the required techniques and receive guidance from an experienced trainer.

Following this training route puts each installer in the best possible position to demonstrate their skills during the assessment and work towards becoming 3M endorsed.

Prepare with Two Days of Practical Training

Our 3M DI-NOC Application Training Course combines classroom learning, demonstrations and extensive hands-on application.

Across the two days, delegates will develop their understanding of:

  • The features and benefits of 3M DI-NOC
  • Substrate suitability and surface preparation
  • Applying film to different surfaces and substrates
  • Using the correct application tools and techniques
  • Managing edges, corners and more challenging details
  • The techniques required for the individual assessment modules
  • Recognising and overcoming common application challenges

Delegates will also have the opportunity to complete an optional mock practical assessment. This provides valuable experience of the assessment format and helps them identify any techniques they should continue practising.

Everyone attending the course receives a certificate of attendance, a comprehensive goody bag and ongoing advice from our training team.

Complete the Official Assessment at Our Academy

After completing the training, installers can progress to the one-day 3M DI-NOC Endorsed Installer Assessment.

The assessment includes written and practical elements designed to confirm each delegate’s product knowledge and ability to apply 3M DI-NOC to the required standard.

It will be overseen by William Smith Training and Application Manager John Raine, who will assess the work completed throughout the day.

Installers who successfully complete the assessment will receive 3M Endorsed Installer accreditation, providing recognised evidence of their knowledge and practical application skills.
