We’re delighted to welcome Rick Souza, Owner of Wrapped Up Cars Limited, to the William Smith Training Academy team. Based at his facility in Bristol, Rick will be delivering vehicle wrap training courses, making our industry-leading training more accessible for trainees based in the South.
Rick’s passion for cars began at just 16 years old in his native Brazil, working as a car mechanic in his brother’s garage. Alongside mechanical work, he also discovered window tinting — a skill he’s continued to develop ever since.
In his early twenties, Rick moved to Portugal, where he worked as a carpenter for two years, fitting kitchens and bathrooms. After relocating to the UK, he tried various roles before returning to the automotive industry, launching his own window tinting business.
His introduction to vehicle wrapping developed from a customer request for a gloss black roof wrap, sparking an interest in the possibilities of transforming a vehicle’s appearance. Since then, Rick has gained extensive experience working on projects ranging from small dechrome jobs to full wraps, taking pride in delivering results that consistently impress his customers.
Now, as part of the Training Academy, Rick is looking forward to using his skills and knowledge to make a real difference in the careers of aspiring wrappers. He believes patience, consistent practice, and a willingness to learn from mistakes are key to success — and that in this fast-moving industry, learning should never stop.
