When Lancashire Mind prepared to move premises from Chorley to Leyland, the charity reached out to local businesses for support creating a welcoming new space for staff, visitors and people accessing their services.

One area in need of attention was the kitchen. Outdated and tired, the space needed to be refreshed in a way that felt calm, warm and in keeping with the charity’s brand. Flowrap stepped in to help, using LX Hausys BENIF Interior Film supplied by William Smith to give the kitchen a fresh new look.

Project Overview

Lancashire Mind wanted to create a more comfortable environment for both staff and visitors, particularly those attending the premises for treatments and support.

The brief was to move away from the existing dated kitchen finish and create a softer, calmer colour scheme. The final design combined a new LX Pastel Green finish for the kitchen doors and drawers with a warm LX wood grain finish for the worktop and table.

The project was completed over two days.

Specified Materials

Flowrap selected LX Hausys BENIF Interior Film for the project, using:

  • LX Hausys wood grain film for the worktop and table
  • LX Hausys Pastel Green film for 7 kitchen doors and 4 drawers

The pastel green was chosen to support the calm, warm feel Lancashire Mind wanted to achieve, while the wood grain helped add natural warmth to the space.

For Flowrap, the project was also a good opportunity to use one of the newer LX patterns in a real-world refurbishment setting.

Installation

The installation was completed by Flowrap over the course of two days.

As an experienced architectural film installer, Flowrap was already familiar with the LX Hausys BENIF range and found the material consistent to work with throughout the project.

The film’s medium-tack adhesive made it easy to position during application, while the consistent air release helped deliver a clean finish across the doors, drawers and worktop surfaces.

Speaking about the material, Flowrap said:

“Great to use – always love using the LX range of products. Really consistent, and even the new products lay just like the older stuff.”

Results

The finished kitchen delivered exactly what Lancashire Mind had hoped for: a calmer, warmer and more welcoming environment without the need for a full kitchen replacement.

The pastel green finish gave the space a softer look, while the wood grain worktop helped introduce a natural warmth that tied the scheme together.

The response from Lancashire Mind was extremely positive:

“I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for doing the kitchen and table - it looks incredible and has received high praise amongst our team!”

Supporting a Meaningful Cause

For Flowrap, this project was about more than just refreshing a kitchen. Lancashire Mind is a charity close to the team’s hearts, and the opportunity to give something back made the project particularly meaningful.

Flowrap also plans to raise money through video views from the project and donate the proceeds back to the charity.
