WRAPvehicles recently completed a full colour change on a Ferrari 812, transforming the car to a vivid red closely matching Ferrari’s Lipstick Rosso—while integrating paint protection from day one. The team specified 3M™ PWF Colour Series (Protection Wrap Film), selecting a shade from the range that offered the closest match to the target colour and removed the need to apply a separate clear PPF layer after wrapping.
The brief was clear: deliver a near-perfect Lipstick Rosso look without compromising on long-term protection. Because the owner always intended to protect the finish, 3M PWF presented a pragmatic route—single material, single install. WRAPvehicles estimate this approach saved the customer around £2,000 compared with wrapping in a comparable red and then adding a second, clear PPF over the top. That value story, coupled with a strong colour match, made the decision straightforward.
From an installer’s standpoint, 3M PWF behaved predictably. The team, who are experienced with cosmetic PPFs that can require more specialist techniques, reported that PWF fitted very similarly to 3M™ 2080. In practice, that meant familiar squeegee pressures, workable tack, and manageable stretch on complex sections.
