The Material Choice
The project took approximately two weeks to complete and required a combination of specialist films to achieve the desired result:
- 65 metres of 3Mâ„¢ Wrap Film Series 2080 Gloss Hot Rod Red
- 16 metres of 3Mâ„¢ Wrap Film Series 2080 Gloss White
- 35 metres of Contra Vision®
- 15 metres of 3Mâ„¢ Print Wrap Film IJ280 with gloss overlaminate
According to Sean Child, Director at Carmeleon, the choice of materials centred around the striking appearance of 3M 2080 Gloss Hot Rod Red.
"The material choice was driven by the choice of using 2080 Gloss Hot Rod Red. The others were chosen for their compatibility and quality to pull the whole design together."
Using products from compatible systems is particularly important on large vehicle graphics projects, helping to ensure a consistent finish, dependable durability and efficient installation across multiple graphic elements.
Smooth Installation Across a Large Vehicle
Large coaches present unique challenges for graphics installers. Extensive panel areas, complex body shapes and the need for precise alignment all demand materials that can be applied with confidence.
Sean was particularly impressed by the installation experience.
"Great installation with excellent performance and durability."
He also highlighted the confidence the materials provided throughout the project.
"Nice slick installation, having full confidence over the performance of it. Also the visual result was exceptional."
For installers working on high-profile fleet projects, that confidence can be just as important as the finished appearance, helping to keep projects on schedule while achieving consistent results.
