Augustus Martin Creates Eye-Catching Window Graphics for Cadbury’s 200th anniversary
Tesco Extra Wembley’s Cadbury 200th window campaign used Contra Vision® translucent white perforated film for bold impact, natural light & clean removal.

London-based printing and installation specialist, Augustus Martin, was entrusted with delivering an impactful window graphic display for Tesco Retail Media and Mondelez. The installation was designed to celebrate Cadbury’s 200th anniversary, while also promoting a competition to win over 200,000 prizes. This high-visibility project required a product solution that would allow natural light to enter the store during the day while displaying eye-catching window graphics to passers-by.
The Challenge
The project involved installing 44m x 10m of film on the windows of Tesco’s Extra store in Wembley. Given the vast size of the graphic, a solid window film would block out light, reducing the amount of natural light in the store and creating an unpleasant environment for both staff and shoppers. Augustus Martin needed to find a solution that would maintain the store’s natural lighting while ensuring the graphic was bold and clearly visible from the outside.
The Solution
To overcome this challenge, Augustus Martin selected Contra Vision® Performance Translucent White Perforated Window Film, which is the perfect material if you want your graphics to really stand out at night and not just during the day. Translucent White window perf enables natural light to be maintained inside of the store, making it ideal for this large-scale installation.
Nine rolls of film were printed for the 128 individual panels of the graphic, Augustus Martin utilized their VUTEK digital printing machine, ensuring crisp colors and consistent quality across the entire installation. The VUTEK printer’s advanced capabilities allowed the massive artwork to be printed in precise detail, meeting the client’s expectations for both durability and aesthetic impact.
Installation was carried out by AFD, a subsidiary of Augustus Martin, who are experts in handling large-scale graphics. The team successfully installed the graphic at the Wembley location within 7 hours as Contra Vision® perforated window film is easy to install in both high and low temperatures and can easily be removed at the end of a campaign with minimal tearing and no adhesive residue left on the window.
The window graphic not only captured the attention of customers at the Tesco Extra store but also successfully communicated the Cadbury 200th-anniversary celebration and competition offer. The use of perforated window film provided the perfect balance between maintaining natural light inside the store and delivering an eye-catching advertisement outside.

Perforated window films, such as those used in the Tesco Extra installation, offer a unique solution for retail spaces. By allowing light into the building while still presenting a high-quality image on the outside, they combine functionality and aesthetics. This technique is often used in high-profile campaigns, such as Cadbury’s anniversary celebration, to ensure maximum visibility without compromising the indoor environment.
