If you’re learning how to apply architectural film, the squeegee is one of the first tools you’ll pick up. It is also one of the most important tools to get right.

At first glance, a squeegee looks simple. It helps push film onto the surface. Easy enough. But in practice, your pressure, angle, grip and movement all make a big difference to the final result.

Good squeegee technique helps reduce bubbles, creases and trapped air. It also helps you apply the film with more control, which is essential when you start working on larger surfaces such as doors, desks, counters, cabinets, worktops and interior panels.
