In November 2023, The Cambridge Sign Company took on a challenging project to transform a suction excavation lorry from its original grey and orange into a sleek gloss silver to align with the customer’s fleet. This involved a full colour change wrap, followed by the application of branded livery and prismatic reflective chevrons.

The project called for a material that could offer a high gloss finish and facilitate a speedy application, considering the extensive coverage required. The Cambridge Sign Company chose 3M 2080 for its superior quality and ease of use, particularly ideal for large vehicle wraps like this.

Execution Timeline

The entire wrap process was meticulously planned and executed over five days, perfectly aligning with the scheduled timeline. This efficiency was crucial in minimising vehicle downtime, a key concern for commercial fleets.

Application Experience

The team found the application process smooth and efficient, thanks to the Controltac adhesive and the film’s removable protective liner. These features of the 3M 2080 series greatly aided in speeding up the installation, ensuring a flawless finish without compromising on time.
