At William Smith, our unique 'Buddy System' brings together two distinct roles to create a seamless customer experience. With an External Account Manager like Lewis actively building relationships out in the field, and an Internal Account Manager like Jordan ensuring every client's needs are addressed promptly from the office, this partnership offers a compelling combination of hands-on and back-end support. In the West Midlands, Lewis and Jordan exemplify just how potent this system can be.

 

Q: "Could you both share a bit about your background and roles at William Smith?”

Lewis: "Sure, I’m Lewis and I'm now coming up on my fifth year with William Smith. I’ve worked in sales for fifteen years, dabbling in everything from agriculture to 3D printing."

Jordan: "And I’m Jordan. I've been here for nearly three years. I started in Internal Sales Support before moving into my role as Internal Account Manager for the West Midlands, working with Lewis."

 

Q: "What makes your buddy so successful at what they do?"

Lewis: "I would say that Jordan's mix of determination, competitiveness, and honesty is a winning combination."

Jordan: "Lewis is trustworthy, honest, and great at feeding back insight into our area.”

 

Q: "What were your first impressions of your area?"

Lewis: "My first impression was that there was a whole lot of potential for William Smith to assist more companies in making their projects successful.”

Jordan: "Our area's full of dedicated, hard-working people. A real mixed bag, but all great to work with and easy to get on with. It’s important to make sure they’re all treated in a way that tailors to their individual needs, whether they’re a one-man band or a large printing company."

 

Q: "What main hurdles do your customers face, and how do you tackle them together?"

Lewis: "The main challenge I hear about is a lack of advice when there are issues with jobs or material. We’ve started to address this in our area by providing WrapShops at more local locations, as well as facilitating direct contact between our customers and various product manufacturers if needed.”

Jordan: “Yeah, I think the WrapShops we’ve held recently have gone down really well. We appreciate that it’s not always the easiest thing for our customers to travel up to Barnard Castle for events, so being able to take it to them instead has been great.”

 

Q: "What kind of feedback do you hear about each other?”

Lewis: "Customers have nothing but good things to say about Jordan — especially about her honesty and helpfulness."

Jordan: "I hear the exact same feedback about Lewis too!"

 

Q: "And the best part of teaming up with your buddy is...?"

Lewis: "The peace of mind that comes from knowing Jordan has everything under control."

Jordan: "The independence he allows me, as well as knowing he is there if I need backup or advice."

 

Q: "Finally, if you had to choose just one word to describe your buddy?"

Lewis: "Positive."

Jordan: "Hard-working."
