Herts Signs Group is a well-established signage and graphics company based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. With three decades of experience, the company specialises in providing a wide range of signage solutions and vehicle graphics to local and national businesses.

Herts Signs Group specialises in vehicle graphics, wraps, and various types of signage, including illuminated fascia signs and pavement signs. Project Description and Objectives

PJ Outdoors approached Herts Signs Group with the objective of refreshing the front of their building by installing a sign tray that would complement their new logo. They desired a sign that would create an impactful visual presence while deviating from the standard shape typically used.

Herts Signs Group turned to our Makers at Smith to help manufacture the two tray signs required for this project. The specifications included a tray sign made of 2mm aluminium, measuring 607mm x 607mm in height with 50mm returns. Additionally, the ‘outdoors’ tray sign, also made of 2mm aluminium, measuring 1867mm x 607mm in height, with 50mm returns.

Challenges and Installation

During the installation process, Herts Signs Group encountered unforeseen challenges. The location where the signage was to be installed had a false front that concealed a glass panel, which was only discovered after the internal signage was removed. Furthermore, the position of the alarm box had to be adjusted to allow the sign to be placed closer to the doorway.

Despite the challenges, the installation process itself was straightforward, and Herts Signs Group did not encounter any further issues. The provided fixings were well-suited for the job, ensuring a secure and sturdy installation.
