Parc Signs Light Up The South Coast

A Cornwall-based sign company has helped a new café and ice-cream shop light up the south coast with the installation of new signage after collaborating with trade-only sign fabricators Smith Sign and Display.

Trading for over 70 years, Parc Signs has a background in traditional signwriting and has evolved in the decades since to encompass new sign-making technologies which have allowed the business to expand its servicing offering. The St Austell-based outfit now offers everything from display work to vehicle graphics.

Priding itself on honesty and integrity, delivering a quality product with value for money is a top priority for the business, ensuring every customer is satisfied with the result.

Actively involved in all aspects of project management, the team at Parc Signs provides thorough and meticulous consultations, advising on suitability and design aesthetics, all intending to achieve a quality final build.

So, when a local café reached out to them a ‘start from scratch’ approach was required with the need for a bold, eye-catching sign which would help the shop stand out and grab attention.

The design of the sign had to be developed with careful consideration so that brand consistency could run throughout the business.

After a period of consultation, the design for the sign, which would also feature as the new logo, was a contemporary, fun, graffiti-style image that suited the identity of the cafe and would resonate with its audience.

The sign fabricated comprised of Built-Up Letters, illuminated both on the face and from the rear to provide a halo effect, was all-singing, all-dancing. In addition to two types of illumination, specific colouring was required for each letter and the use of a cast vinyl was specified to create an impact with plenty of punch.

The typeface used posed many challenges with the letters needing to overlap. However, thanks to the excellent collaboration and the expertise of both teams at Parc Signs and Smith Sign and Display fabricating the sign as desired was made possible.

Once received the sign was installed readily in time for the shop opening, and apart from navigating around what was essentially a building site, it went relatively smoothly. Smith Sign and Display also supplied templates and fixings, and the electrical elements were well labelled and straightforward to follow.

Speaking on the service received by the Smith team, Parc Signs’ Simon Barnett commented:

“The team in Barnard Castle was extremely efficient and professional, Martin Vickers was very responsive and knowledgeable. He realised the brief well and the price provided for this project was as expected”.

Simon also added…

“We’re pleased with the quality of the product, absolutely. It will be interesting to see how it stands up to a testing environment, it’s practically on the beach!”.

The end-user client was thrilled with the outcome of the project and the service provided by Parc Signs. Having used the services of the business for many years they expected nothing less from the team.
