When Oxfordshire based company, Complete Graphics were approached to wrap a 2007, Land Rover Defender 110 khaki green recently, they immediately turned to William Smith to access the free sampling service.

“The client was really impressed with the speed that the samples arrived” explained Marketing and Graphic Designer, Abbey Churchill, “we were able to compare the colour and finish of each option before the client selected 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080, Matt Military Green for the wrap.”

The custom design saw the roof, wheel arches and grill remain gloss black while the remainder of the vehicle was expertly wrapped in the 3M™ material.

3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 is a highly conformable, 90 micron cast film ideal for colour detailing and full wraps on a whole host of vehicles and proved a solid choice for the demands of a Defender 110.

“The vinyl was capable of all the intricacies of a 110, including the rivets. The conformable film layers were well capable of fitting into and staying in the deep recesses below the windscreen area,” comments Abbey.

Additional features of 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 include, 3M™ Controltac™ which minimises the initial contact area of the adhesive allowing for easy sliding, tacking, snap-up and repositioning, and micro Comply™ technology designed to permit air to exit through air release channels to the edge of the material.

Both features which Complete Graphics appreciated during the wrap, “the ability to reposition the material made for easier application, as we were able to position the vinyl in the right place before applying it. Plus, the micro Comply™ technology 3M™ have developed, achieves a flawless finish.”
