A family run signmakers

Here at Smith Sign and Display we like to keep it in the family; introducing our latest signmaker to join the team, Harry Lewandowski, brother of Toby.

Like his younger brother, Harry also has an experienced background in fabrication, having previously manufactured metal roofing and cladding systems for commercial buildings.

He’ll now put his experience to good use within our fabrication unit, helping the lads manufacture all your commercial signage projects. Needless to say, he’s not going to have any issues getting to grips with the bespoke nature of signmaking.

To help you get to know Harry a little better we asked him a few questions, see what he had to say below.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

Myself and my brother are very close, we tend to like similar things, I’m also into my cars and motorbikes, and I’m currently helping Toby restore his drift car.

Mountain biking is a hobby of mine, it’s very rural up our neck of the woods, so we have some really challenging terrain which always makes things more fun.

Snowboarding is another interest but only when abroad, it’s a shame we don’t get more snow over here.

What are you looking forward to most in your new job?

The variety. I’m used to working on a production line doing the same thing day in, day out. Here I’ll be involved in many different aspects of signmaking, and as every project is unique, no two days should be the same.

You probably hear this a lot but as a local lad I know a lot of people within the business, so it’ll be nice to be surrounded by familiar faces.

Why did you want to work at William Smith Group 1832?

The business has a good reputation within the local community and that speaks volumes.

Also, the job opportunity will allow me to develop new skills, and plus, it’s nicer if you can work locally because nobody likes Friday rush-hour traffic.

You’ll have already gathered that I am into extreme sports, mainly mountain biking and snowboarding (when possible); BMXing is another.

We’ve plenty of good pubs in the area, it’s therefore impossible not to like some good old ‘pub grub’ and a pint.

Swimming, I was never very good at school and I still don’t like it to this day.
