Think Wraps' Audi Boat Wrap with 3M IJ280
In June 2023, Think Wraps undertook an unconventional and exciting project: wrapping an Audi-branded boat. The challenge was to create a wrap that represented the Audi brand effectively, with an emphasis on quality and visual impact.
Material Selection
Selecting the right material was key for this project. Think Wraps opted for 3M Print Wrap Film IJ280, renowned for its superior adhesive qualities and exceptional print performance. The team at Think Wraps highlighted, “The choice of material was crucial, and we found that 3M’s vinyl met our high standards for quality.”
Project Duration
The project, initially scheduled for four working days, was completed in just three. This efficiency was attributed to the Think Wraps team's expertise and the functionality of the 3M product. “Working with 3M IJ280 allowed us to complete the project ahead of schedule,” said Michael Kitson from Think Wraps.
Application Details
The application of IJ280 was smooth, with the film demonstrating excellent performance and productivity. The material's outstanding print quality and minimal heat requirement during application were essential in achieving a high-quality finish.

The results exceeded Think Wraps' expectations. “We were impressed with how the 3M IJ280 film enhanced the overall quality of the project. It was an essential component in achieving the desired outcome,” they remarked.
The client was extremely pleased with the final wrap, which transformed the appearance of the boat. The design’s vivid colours and crisp line work were particularly praised for their visual appeal.
This project demonstrates the potential of 3M Print Wrap Film IJ280 in high-profile branding project and showcases Think Wraps' capability in handling unique and challenging wrapping endeavours.
